Public bug reported: Trying to install Kubuntu 16.10 from the installer with a 64 bit ISO burned onto a SUB stick. Rana successful installation of the stick on another machine Difference here is that the installer wants me to disable secure boot to install the proprietary drivers and asks for a password.
The only way I can get past that screen is to allow it to disable secure boot and thus put in a password. After clicking next, the installer crashes with the following back trace: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity", line 655, in <module> main(oem_config) File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity", line 639, in main install(args[0], query=options.query) File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity", line 274, in install ret = wizard.run() File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/frontend/kde_ui.py", line 512, in run if self.backup or self.dbfilter_handle_status(): File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/ubiquity/frontend/kde_ui.py", line 857, in dbfilter_handle_status QtWidgets.QMessageBox.Close) TypeError: warning(QWidget, str, str, buttons: Union[QMessageBox.StandardButtons, QMessageBox.StandardButton] = QMessageBox.Ok, defaultButton: QMessageBox.StandardButton = QMessageBox.NoButton): too many arguments ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: ubiquity 16.10.14 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-22.24-generic 4.8.0 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-22-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.379 CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Mon Dec 5 13:36:58 2016 InstallCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/casper/vmlinuz.efi file=/cdrom/preseed/kubuntu.seed boot=casper maybe-ubiquity quiet splash --- LiveMediaBuild: Kubuntu 16.10 "Yakkety Yak" - Release amd64 (20161012.1) SourcePackage: ubiquity UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug kubuntu ubiquity-16.10.14 yakkety ** Attachment added: "syslog" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1647363/+attachment/4787572/+files/syslog -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1647363 Title: Kubuntu installer crashes: TypeError StandardButton too many arguments To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1647363/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
