Public bug reported:

I run Ubuntu on a Macbook Pro with Retina display.

Up to 16.10 I ran Unity with a scaling factor of 1 and a text-scaling of
1,62. This led to acceptable display results.

After upgrade to 17.04 desktop scaling is by default 2 and cannot be
readjusted. Thus all icons, windows and text appear gigantic. This might
be acceptable for some applications. However, Libreoffice provides
recent file preview which now take 1/6 of the screen size (used to be
iconic) and the toolbar icons have to be set to small in order to make
them take only a portion of the screen.

Is there a way I can revert to the previous way to adjust display
settings?
