Anyone had the sound problem that your gnome sound control seems to be
switching between headphones and speakers, again and again and a nasty noise
comes out?
It keeps switching by itself and sound gets interrupted always, nothing solves
it. I even purged all pulseaudio and alsa.
First time
Despite all the above, the sound problems remain randomly in Xubuntu
too.. I found on Google that this seems to be a kernel related bug (or
just a lack of support of my hardware) and that it perhaps will be fixed
with the kernel 4.11 or 4.12. Also I found UKUU, an interesting tool for
easily
I searched a bit in Google and -I think- that I've found the solution by
resetting the default "sink":
The webpage:
https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxmint/comments/5d3gcb/no_sound_in_linux_mint_18/
First, I tried the first workaround in the terminal:
$ sudo alsa force-reload
$ sudo apt-get
I have to say that Xubuntu 17.04 just got the same sound problem... All
of a sudden, the laptop got not sounds through speakers nor headphones
and a restart does not fix it.
Ubuntu MATE 17.04 recovers from this sound bug by restarting the laptop
(at least, the few times I had to do it before
So I installed Xubuntu 17.04 and sound works flawlessly.
I didn't lose the sound not even one time this far.
Only one time the battery light has started to blink in rows of four
times but sound worked perfectly anyway.
I don't know if the light has something to do with the sound problem or
not,
My asus x555 hase same issues.
