The latest Ubuntu LTS release has mkdocs 0.16.3, and the latest
development release has 0.17.5. Both these versions are newer than
requested 0.16.2, so this bug can be closed.

Regarding joining or helping out as a package maintainers (unfortunately
a lot of packages in Ubuntu don't have dedicated maintainers), it looks
