Hi Jeremy,
I am using version of Geary compiled from master branch.
Geary (master version) works stable since update to 2.16.2. I am
currently running on libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 (= 2.16.3-0ubuntu0.17.04.1).

Please help me understand how you were affected by this bug.
webkit2gtk provides libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 but Ubuntu's geary uses
libwebkit2gtk-3.0-0 (from the webkitgtk source, notice the lack of a "2"
in the

Because this is claimed to be fixed in 2.16.2 and I already uploaded the
2.16.2 updates to the SRU queues, I'm going to go ahead and mark this a
duplicate of the 2.16.2 update bug 1690536.

gtk/2017-May/003031.html and already in proposed for artful. It
apparently contains a fix for this, but I haven't been able to verify
it.

Title:
This is blocking the 0.12 release of Geary, since the new version
depends on webkit2gtk and this bug makes it completely unusable. I'm not
sure when 2.16.2 is due out, but it would be great if the patch from the
webkit bug could be applied to the package in the meantime.
