Coming back to this issue - using stable/pike now, kubernetes package is
installed using pip, but the same happens:

I'm not sure what comment #2 means. This issue in magnum is fixed since
ocata [1].

The Ubuntu packages patch in the python-k8sclient as the kubernetes
client isn't a debian package in the Ubuntu archives.
