Phillip. As you mentioned, I was trying to install Ubuntu in a new computer
setup using my old HD and, even though I tried erasing the main partition,
I failed to erase the swap. I did solve it by selecting the installation
option where the entire HD is erased. Everything is working fine, now.

Your disk is currently partitioned to boot in bios mode, but you booted
the installer in EFI mode. A warning message prompted you that this
could be a problem and recommended performing a bios mode install
instead, but you chose not to. You either need to perform the bios mode
install, or partition
