Lubuntu 16.04 LTS - About two weeks ago the software updater started
reporting problems, seemingly related to xserver.

Tried to manually upgrade xserver-xorg-core-hwe-16.04, but cancelled
because it wants to remove lots of packages including lubuntu-core.
