I can confirm this bug on an Asus Z71P. I am seeing exactly the same
behavior as the original reporter on Hardy Heron 8.04 with kernel
2.6.24-19-generic.
Output of lspci -vvnn is attached.

Now trying with hardy.
The pc goes to sleep correctly (can see nm going to sleep too)
However resume is not working yet. It tries to, but the screen remain black.
Trying with compiz enabled. Will try disabling it.
