Didn't test thoroughly. Worked fine with a simple test configuration.
When the directory/folder contains more folders in multiple levels (ie
3-4 folders the one inside the other), with long names, fails as
usual...

Seems that adding the version=3.0 argument mounting the share via cifs,
solves the problem...
i.e.
/mnt/x
-fstype=cifs,vers=3.0,rw,credentials=/home/xxx/.cifspwd,nodfs,iocharset=utf8,uid=1000,gid=1000,file_mode=0700,dir_mode=0700
