Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tomcat5.5
When deploying a war which uses Spring WS, the application will fail to work correctly, raising this error: Class not found: org.springframework.xml.xpath.Jaxp13XPathExpressionFactory I assume that other applications may also fail with similar class not found exceptions, too. The jar that contains this class is in the war (the jar is spring-xml-1.0.2.jar). After much web searching, I ran across this page: http://brian.pontarelli.com/2007/10/15/ubuntu-gusty-and-tomcat-55/ Following those directions, I deleted /usr/share/tomcat5.5/common/endorsed/*, restarted tomcat, and now the application works. Stock Tomcat 5.5 does not include those the jars that Ubuntu does in its /usr/share/tomcat5.5/common/endorsed/ directory. Perhaps those jars should not be included in this package? I'm running Ubuntu Gutsy, Tomcat 5.5, and JDK6. Thanks! ** Affects: tomcat5.5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- jars included with tomcat break jaxp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173692 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
