Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vmware-server

(Not sure if this is where I report this, it's something that needs to
get to VMware itself.)

I have an up-to-date i686 gutsy install. I have just installed vmware-
server from APT (the new -1gutsy2 version released today). The VMware
Server Console hangs on launch every time. Running it from the console,
I see that glibc outputs a bad pointer message, together with lots of
debugging info. If I strace it, the last syscall is a wait(), so
probably it does wait() on a bad pointer and so never wakes up.

My machine is a Dell XPS M1710 laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS.
Note that I am using TwinView. This set-up has worked fine with VMware
Server for me in the past.

** Affects: vmware-server (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
