That issue is related to change of default SMB protocol version used in
4.13
Mounting with vers=1.0 resolves issue.
mount.cifs //10.1.0.1/test /mnt/ -o user=guest,vers=1.0

I see same issue on Xenial upgraded to 4.13.0-32.35~16.04.1
