Public bug reported:

Kubuntu 17.10 (64 bit), Plasma 5.10.5, 5.38.0 Frameworks.
Lenovo x270

I followed the steps here (second to the latest bug):
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=225&t=141577&p=394432#p394432

So I followed the steps to try to add the battery widget to my taskbar.
Then things crashed so I restarted the laptop. When I got back, the
wallpaper reverted to the default wallpaper and the task bar vanished so
all there is just black bar on the bottom for some reason. I can't even
right click the desktop. Then my plasma? crashed (I don't even know the
name of this thing or if I'm reporting the right package) as I'm a
newbie.

I like Linux but if adding such a simple widget does something so
terrible to Linux, I am seriously thinking about going back to Windows.
Why can't things just be simple? I hope someone can help me fast so I
can get on with my work.

Phil
