I don't think this is a kernel problem, it looks like modprobe is trying to load a module named "off" which does not exist. I'm wondering if you have some kind of strange aliases defined in /etc/modprobe.d, something like 'alias nouveau off'. Can you check the files in there, and if you find someth

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.16 kernel[
