I see also this problem on my Thikpad T495 on Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04:

Then I'm installed latest version using dpkg (libinput-

bionic presently uses 1.10.4-1
only disco uses 1.12.4-1

Actually, I confused trackpoints with trackpads. Indeed, there's no fix
for trackpoints yet.

thanks for the hint. I installed the newest version of libinput-bin
"libinput-bin_1.10.6-1_amd64.deb" and the behavior did inprove but it
does still not work flawlessly. The cursor still jumps somethimes
especially if moved a short distance.
Did I miss something or could it be, that the prior fide
