Binary package hint: network-manager
It is a Gutsy upgraded from Feisty-Edgy-Dapper.
When the UTP cable is connetcted to eth0 after logging in the network manager
shows the Wired Network greyed out (as if it was not connected). After
unplugging and replugging the UTP cable the network-manager activates the wired
connection and connects to the network fine.
In Edgy it worked without unplugging and plugging the UTP cable.
It is a HP nw8000 notebook.
