The WiFi card, an Intel 3945ABG works. I have tested it against an open
system and it connects fine. When I try to connect to a WEP AP, it
fails. When I try to configure it at the command line, it seems to

With either the ipw3945 or iwl3945 driver, I am constantly re-asked for
the WEP key by NetworkManager. Network-Admin (the manual
configuration thing) works if I do a sudo /etc/init.d/networking
restart (dhclient fails until I do that). Iwconfig followed by
dhclient works fine as well. This
It's not ndiswrapper. I have the same trouble using the native ipw3945

NetworkManager's Roaming mode, but not with NetworkManager's Manual
Configuration (iwconfig also works fine for me).
I'm not sure whether to file a separate bug or comment on this one...

with 0.6.5-0ubuntu16 ?
I see a very similar problem (unable to connect to networks using WEP,
along with that error), but only with the newer network-manager package.
The older one works fine.
Also note that I'm using a
Using a modified version of the otherwise not compilable vendor's open
source version of the driver - rtl8187b-modified - everything seems to
be a mess. Connection percentages are not shown, I always get zero bars
etc. BUT nm connections work perfect for unencrypted and wep-networks.
