Looks like the latest proposed update for evolution-data-server,
2.22.1.1-0ubuntu2, works beautifully. However, it does seem to need the
matching evolution and evolution-common in order for it to work.
Without it, it acts the same as my previous comments. It should also be
noted, that I deleted
Forgot to also mention, that on first run with the update, terminal output
displays:
e-data-server-ui-Message: Unable to find password(s) in keyring (Keyring
reports: No matching results)
e-data-server-ui-Message: Key file does not have group 'Passwords-Mail'
Despite this, though, it does,
the file does have a Passwords-Mail tag then, did you add the white
space on the line start or is that on the disk? does removing it make
the password migration work correctly? the passwords are not migrated
right now but evolution still use those correctly right?

did you add the white space on the line start or is that on the disk?
That was what was on the disk.
does removing it make the password migration work correctly?
No, it just recreates it.
the passwords are not migrated right now but evolution still use those
correctly right?
Correct.

The update doesn't seem to be taking effect. Terminal output is saying:
e-data-server-ui-Message: Key file does not have group 'Passwords-Mail'.

The new version has the password migration and a bunch of fixes, I've
tested it on my laptop and it works correctly
** Description changed:
- Binary package hint: evolution-data-server
+ The current evolution-data-server version doesn't use gnome-keyring so

I am concerned about including this change to reactivate gnome-keyring
password migration via an SRU, as this is ultimately a feature /
behavior change. We should get additional verification of this SRU,
beyond the usual, before accepting into -updates, including a clear
comparison of the UI

My understanding is that the feature was disabled because of the problem
that Gustavo had mentioned: previously, the keyring didn't unlock
automatically at login, so if you saved your password, whenever you
started evolution it would ask for the keyring password, thereby making
saving the password
So, is this feature disabled by default because of the problem sebastien
was mentioning? or isn't it implemented yet?

keyring password annoyance anymore. And I _really_ hate to store
passwords in a plain text file (well, it's base64 encoded IIRC, but that
is trivial to crack), so I end up not saving some of my more sensitive
passwords, which is
