Switching to the Official Oracle Java 8 Package was the workaround that worked
for me.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt update
sudo apt install oracle-java8-installer
This bug caused downtime. Hopefully it will be given high priority to
fix.
