Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kvm
When running a virtual machine with KVM /var/log/syslog continually reports the following Dec 28 16:45:29 zardoz kernel: [ 619.115783] printk: 249 messages suppressed. Dec 28 16:45:29 zardoz kernel: [ 619.115788] rtc: lost some interrupts at 1024Hz. Guests OSes often run slow and/or pause. FWIW: # uname -a Linux zardoz 2.6.22-14-server #1 SMP Tue Dec 18 05:52:24 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux According to http://kvm.qumranet.com/kvmwiki/FAQ#head-ba9cf8ea65a0023b2cba804f14b013ff556f9b3f this bug can easily be fixed. "Try setting CONFIG_HPET_EMULATE_RTC=y in your host .config." I have done this with success, however it means that I must use a custom kernel, which is problematic in itself. Could CONFIG_HPET_EMULATE_RTC be included in the the standard kernel, or could a KVM version of the kernel be distributed (as with Xen). This is a great frustration of not just mine, but many users. It would be great to see the KVM promised totally fulfilled. :) All the best, Raphael Kraus ** Affects: kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- KVM: rtc lost some interrupts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/179021 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
