The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

Hi Guys,
Michael, care to open a new bug report against the 'linux' package? The
symptom of this particular bug, failure to Suspend or Hibernate, is
specific to the hardware used. So while many of you may have the same

I can confirm that the above behaviour is true for my laptop, just
updated to Hardy.
Behaviour is as follows...
Press logout button - select Hibernate
Screen goes black - Looks to reset to blank console with flashing underscore
cursor in top left, hard drive lights flickers for approx 5 seconds
I use the current kernel 2.6.24-7 generic provided by software update.
hibernate has never worked so far

Hi Sebastian,
Can you please be more specific? "Latest updates" is not helpful as the
kernel is constantly being updated. Going and figuring out which kernel
was released the day you posted your comment is not very helpful to the
development teams needing to quickly debug. Please post the outpu
