Public bug reported: I am seeing no network icon in the top bar or status area. When I click the power area for more info, it shows an x symbol with 'Wired unmanaged'. It doesn't think we're connected. This has been going on for a week or two. All of my desktops are affected now.
I have tried rebooting and putting managed=true in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf It does not affect internet connectivity but it does affect vnc sharing, ssh, samba servers, and the likes. I also noticed when plugging in a mobile phone, "Broadband unmanaged" came up in a similar vein At this point I am convinced it is some disagreement between packages recently pushed by Canonical and/or other maintainers, and am marking it as something to be looked into ASAP Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS NetworkManager v1.10.6 4.15.0-34-generic ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1793502 Title: "Wired Unmanaged" with v1.10.6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1793502/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
