Public bug reported:

I'm using Kubuntu an a laptop installed as Kubuntu 16.10 and upgraded to
Kubuntu 18.04.
About every third time when an update is found, when I click the "update all"
button in Plasma Discover, no password dialog is shown, and the application is
not doing anything.
The annoying thing is that after this happens, it's not possible to close
plasma-discover by clicking the close window decoration button, to close the
application from the taskbar with rigth-click close, or to shutdown the system
from the KDE menu, so I have to use the command line to do these things.

** Affects: plasma-discover (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
