I have tried the latest Ubuntu 18.10 kernel (4.18.0-10.11) available here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux The problem is not fixed in this version and unfortunately it seems that Ubuntu 18.10 will be released with this kernel on October 18th as it is stated "pre-release freeze"...
