Public bug reported: After getting the latest kernel update, the system keeps booting into a console that says (initramfs), and no amount of any commands helps gets past this.
Previous version kernel before it boots fine. I'm willing to help figure out what's happened if someone is willing to help guide me through it, I'm no stranger to compiling code or getting debug information. Thanks in advance. 1) $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS Release: 16.04 2) $ apt-cache policy linux-image-4.15.0-36-generic linux-image-4.15.0-36-generic: Installed: 4.15.0-36.39~16.04.1 Candidate: 4.15.0-36.39~16.04.1 Version table: *** 4.15.0-36.39~16.04.1 500 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) What I expected to happen: To boot into Ubuntu, or a terminal to be able to boot into a graphical interface. 4) What happened instead: Booted into a console that contains (initramfs) that doesn't let me progress further.
