I retested the issue on Ubuntu 19.10, with following version of Guake:
guake --version
Guake Terminal: 3.6.3
VTE: 0.58.2
VTE runtime: 0.58.2
Gtk: 3.24.12
and it works fine. When I echo the "http://www.example.com"; and then
copy it, the content of clipboard contains "http://example.com";
