That bug was about newer upstream version. Are you saying that this crash is with the one from 7.10? (nvidia-glx-new 100.14.19) Anyway, you are doing things the wrong way. You do not need to run dpkg- reconfigure. Please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf. ** Changed in:

Probably the installation is broken in some way, since it cannot initialize GLX. Restricted-manager enabled some options (AddARGBVisuals, AddARGBGLXVisuals, NoLogo), but adding those back probably don't do anything. -- Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in _IO_vfscanf()
