Public bug reported: lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS Release: 16.04
System is an HP Envy laptop (Envy 6) The battery is new. Expected behavior: I expect the battery to charge when the power supply is plugged in. Actual behavior: When Ubuntu is running, the battery does not charge (active or suspended). When the computer is shut down and plugged in, the battery charges (so, not a hardware problem). upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0 native-path: BAT0 vendor: 13-12 model: MO06062 serial: 18083 power supply: yes updated: Sun 12 May 2019 02:53:56 PM EDT (3 seconds ago) has history: yes has statistics: yes battery present: yes rechargeable: yes state: fully-charged warning-level: none energy: 46.332 Wh energy-empty: 0 Wh energy-full: 46.332 Wh energy-full-design: 46.332 Wh energy-rate: 0 W voltage: 12.438 V percentage: 100% capacity: 100% technology: lithium-ion icon-name: 'battery-full-charged-symbolic' ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: unity-control-center 15.04.0+16.04.20171130-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-64.85-generic 4.4.44 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-64-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.18 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Sun May 12 14:47:59 2019 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/unity-control-center InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-02-17 (814 days ago) InstallationMedia: ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=en_US XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> SourcePackage: unity-control-center UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: unity-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1828741 Title: Battery will not charge when Ubuntu is running.
