Just a point of interest
I am using Hardy alpha4/python-2.5.1-6 and have gDesklets .36beta and it
is working for the calender. I used (./configure, make && checkinstall
-D) to build a .deb file and have used it a couple of times.
I did move gDesklets-data files to .gdesklets so they could be f
I am having the same problem, with the "official" Hardy package.

I installed gdesklets on my laptop, which is running Gutsy, and it
installed ok so I coppied the .deb install files from cache and
installed them on my desktop but had the same problem. I would have to
assume that the update on Herron must break gdesklets.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. I have classified this bug as a bug in gdesklets.
Unfortunately we can't fix it,
