to the top of the list and applied...no change.

Yes, I assume this issue was caused by some pre-4.0.0 release of KDE 4.

No. I have never installed kde4.
I solved the problem in an other way: in settings --> file association -->
text --> html I moved konqueror in first position in the list of "Application
Preference Order". By default I'd kate.
Can be this an other solution?
