I don't quite get it. As you can see in the mockup, you don't need
additional horizontal space AT ALL. That mockup shows a normal
Transmission main window with its minimum width, and everything fits in.

This has been marked as invalid upstream. Its downside is that it makes
the window wider than in 1.01 if you want to be able to see and use the
filter bar. You're really only trading off vertical space for
horizontal space, and for this in
