fyi: the SQUASHFS errors I saw relate to your install media, be it CD/DVD/thumb-drive/etc, and maybe logical or physical. Once I saw them I stopped looking as it wasn't a bug - but user error before the install started... (what my prior message is talking about, ie. validate download is flawless,

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. This failure was caused by a corrupted file system, or device failure. eg. look in the logs and you'll see messages like these :- Oct 12 06:46:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 424.281840] SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression
