So this package is a ftbfs but it's a really old version, so I
personally think that this bug should be marked as invalid, or maybe
won't fix, since I don't think anybody will take care of it because
hardy will reach soon its EOL.
So I'm setting as incomplete for now.

This library is also needed to install Websphere 5.6.1 on a system. I
was running into the same problem trying to find it for Hardy.

Hmm...
I tested it and apparently you are right. It fails to build from source.
However, it seems that at least the package libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 is
binary compatible to Hardy, so it would be sufficient for most
applications affected by this to copy/paste that one package to the
Hardy repos.
