I have the same problem with random freezes. My Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
(kernel: 5.8.0-44-generic) enjoys crashing randomly without any apparent
reason.
I have 8 GB of RAM and started with 2 GB of swap when I installed it
parallel to my Win 10 (dual boot, they share a harddrive). Recently, I

OK, I increased swap to 8G. I will do some testing to figure out if this
solves the problem or not.

As much as the ram, so 8G.
In newer releases, installer uses swap file instead of swap partition.
That brings much better flexibility.

(If this should be different, "automatic partitioning" shoud be reconfigured, I
