Hi.
I've now confirmed that starting X with "startx" instead of KDM gives the same
result (black screen, no response from ctrl-f1, ctrl-f2).
I also noticed that sshd is still running and that I can log in to the machine
from another one nearby. I've installed the dbg-packages as suggested but can
I was wrong. The bug is still there. I'll see if I can reproduce it.

For some reason this issue seems to have solved itself. I haven't done anything

Typically with X crashes (and sometimes freezes), a backtrace is printed
at the end of the Xorg.0.log, yet it did not in this case unfortunately.
