If using the vala panel, most apps work fine, however Firefox does not display the menus in the panel. I asked the official developer of vala here and he directed me to launchpad: https://gitlab.com/vala-panel-project/vala-panel-appmenu/issues/17#note_288540887 Please let me know if I have not understood where I must report this bug. If I have reported it in the wrong place, I will happily re-report it elsewhere, if anyone is kind enough to tell me where to go.
