It appears this bug was reported after you removed (?) the nvidia driver, which is understandable. But that also means we have no logs showing when the bug was happening.
Please run these commands to help gather the system logs of previous boots so that we can try to identify what the problem was, when it was happening: journalctl -b-1 > boot-1.txt journalctl -b-2 > boot-2.txt journalctl -b-3 > boot-3.txt journalctl -b-4 > boot-4.txt journalctl -b-5 > boot-5.txt and then attach the resulting text files to this bug. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete ** Summary changed: - Xorg freeze + System failed to boot when nvidia-390 was installed ** Package changed: ubuntu => nvidia-graphics-drivers-390 (Ubuntu) ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1864781 Title: System failed to boot when nvidia-390 was installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1864781/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
