Public bug reported: What I expected to happen:
"apt upgrade" and "apt install ubuntustudio-wallpapers" to succeed. What happened instead: Those apt commands fail with the following error: dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/ubuntustudio-wallpapers-focal_0.68_all.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/share/gnome-background-properties/ubuntustudio-wallpapers.xml', which is also in package ubuntustudio-wallpapers 0.68 # lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu Focal Fossa (development branch) Release: 20.04 # apt-cache policy ubuntustudio-wallpapers ubuntustudio-wallpapers: Installed: (none) Candidate: 0.68 Version table: 0.68 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe i386 Packages # apt-cache policy ubuntustudio-wallpapers-focal ubuntustudio-wallpapers-focal: Installed: 0.68 Candidate: 0.68 Version table: *** 0.68 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe amd64 Packages 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Analysis: Both ubuntustudio-wallpapers_0.68_all.deb and ubuntustudio-wallpapers- focal_0.68_all.deb contain /usr/share/gnome-background-properties /ubuntustudio-wallpapers.xml. I can't remove ubuntustudio-wallpapers-focal without removing ubuntustudio-wallpapers as the latter depends on the former. However, installing just ubuntustudio-wallpapers works. ** Affects: ubuntustudio-look (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: focal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** No longer affects: focal (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1866584 Title: ubuntustudio-wallpapers duplicates file in ubuntustudio-wallpapers- focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntustudio-look/+bug/1866584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
