I'm on Xubuntu 6.10 and I don't see where this happens. Changing "Mode"
on the "Display Modes" tab does not disable "Power Management" in the
"Advanced" tab.

This bug is resolved in Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Edubuntu, since it doesn't
use xscreensaver anymore.
Xscreensaver is now only included in Xubuntu. Could anyone using Xubuntu
please test if this bug still persists in Xubuntu?
