Public bug reported:

update-grub cannot run on a live session. When a user installs a package
in a live session, installation is successful but it ends with the
following message:

Refreshing boot menu
INFO Updating GRUB menu
ERROR "update-grub" returned an error: exit status 1


We should detect the type of session and not run update-grub if it is a live 
session.
