I think this was a problem that I actually created myself. I wound up
deleting everything encluding the partitions. Created new partitions and
reinstalled and everything seems to be working mostly fine. I now have
an on again off again video driver issue that only brings up one of my
two monitors,
Ubuntu 20.04 is released next week. http://releases.ubuntu.com/
Could you test if this is still problem for you then?
There is also an unsupported beta release available now. It should be
reasonable safe to test it.
