The Fixed Speed submenu only appears if you have more than 3 frequencies available. I understand it unlocked the largest frequency, but why would you want the largest frequency when the Performance governor had always been buit in Ubuntu (and other systems) ? Performance is simply better than your

In my situation choosing maximum frequency turned on the fan. Otherwise the computer was way to hoot to use and too cold to start using the fan. I think that not giving that option was a design bug. The smallest frequency? I don't really remeber and I don't have that laptop anymore :-( I think

Hi, I'm the author of this applet :) There was a rationale that was to avoid an overcrowded popup menu. In the most frequent case, you have both the performance and powersaving governors, and thus there is no logic in providing your maximum or minimum speed in the Fixed Speed submenu. I don't
