similar problem here I use hardy alpha 3 i386, and I have ati radeon x1600 card, the problem is: after installing the driver, and the required restart there is no gui, the graphics card is obviously not initialized properly, and doing control+alt+1,2,3... all shows a meshed matrix of text fields,
