no it's not in gutsy for now and the workaround is not working for me. I
cannot change the association of html file to be as "Show file in
embedded viewer". In reality I can choose it but that does nothing and
if I re-open konqueror configuration. The file association is going back
to the default
This should already be available for Gutsy actually.

Yes, that's the same workaround I've found/used. Luckily it's fixed in
Hardy and will get into the Gutsy packages then, too, probably.
I'm attaching the debdiff for this fix, for reference.

I've found a workaround for this bug in my Ubuntu Gutsy. To fix this
bug, go to "File Associations" in "System Settings" . Select the "text"
type. In the right pane, select "Show file in embedded viewer" instead
of "Show file in separate viewer". Check out

Possibly. I think there is no default setting for the html mimetype
which means it applies the "ask whether to save" and the "open in
application" settings, which is actually the cause for this issue.

The attachment is a log of what happens when running ubuntu-bug which
opens launchpad.net and asks for a login email and password, when
entering the information, and clicking on login, it shows a pop up that
asks if I want to save or open konqueror, instead of just opening a new
window.
