Public bug reported:

yq is (excerpt from the repository): "a lightweight and portable
command-line YAML processor. The aim of the project is to be the jq or
sed of yaml files.".

jq is already packaged on Ubuntu, so yq would be a logical and nice
addition.

The repository is located in https://github.com/mikefarah/yq

The license is MIT, so I don't think would be problems in this aspect.

There is a Snap package and a PPA available, but IMHO native packaging
is usually better.
