Here, it's ANYTIME you logoff, including shutting down.
The KDE crash handler error report pop-up will appear then disappear
when shutting down.

In my case, knotify4 was crashing on logout (restart, shutdown) if I had
sound Notifications on. Knotify crashed somewhere in phonon xine
backend. Setting player to None in sound settings solved this for me.
However, I use OpenSuse 10.3. Attaching traces.

Steps to reproduce on my laptop:
1 Login without beeing conected to the internett
Uses kubuntu 8.06
Linux 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux.
The error message commes repetedly until a network conection is fully
esstablished. (veary anoying) - see screenshots.

can reproduce this, but guess what? I don't even have to follow your
instructions to get the KNotify crash on reboot/shutdown. I have noticed
it the past couple of times but it is really quick and the crash window
is gone befo
This doesn't happen on my trunk build of KDE 4 nor can I find 1 single
report either opened or closed with a KNotify crash on logging off, all
of the crashes upstream are while logging in. I will keep an eye on this
and see if we can figure something out.

As far as I remember, KCrash just disappeared, so I couldn't save the backtrace.
However, I'll try this again when I find the time, and post the backtrace here.
