Having reinstalled and updated/upgraded to kernel `5.4.0-42-generic #46-Ubuntu
SMP Fri Jul 10 00:24:02 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux` I can report
the following info:
--used "third party drivers" and ticked the box for secure boot, entered a
password, but never saw the BIOS/UEFI
Having the same exact issue in the same timeframe; a recent update to
20.04 removed the ability to select HDMI audio devices. As it is not
related to a specific package such as alsamixer or pavucontrol, I
believe it to be a kernel issue. Sorry for the lack of clarity; I will
attempt to install
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people
