Public bug reported: By default udev is supposed to log to /var/log. In Ubuntu 20 it is not logging. Logging was then explicitly enabled by uncommenting this line in /etc/udev/udev.conf:
"udev_log=info" After running "systemctl restart udev" and plugging in a USB drive, there is still no udev log in /var/log. Yet /var/log/system shows that a device was in fact attached. ** Affects: udev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1890654 Title: udev service does not log To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/1890654/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
