Hello!, I've been studying this bug and testing the mate github fixes.
I've done some testing, and in case you want to only apply that very fix
with out moving to the next version, you might want to use this ones.
Only the mate-utils patch needed some rework as github changes were
applied to a re
I was hoping this fixes would come with Ubuntu Mate 20.04.2, but
unfortunately it seems it didn't happen. Is there any plans to release
this fixes to Ubuntu Mate 20.04? Or is there at least a ppa or any other
alternative to fix the missing icons?

translations as well, largely in the menu. Is there any testing I can
perform to help this fix along and get released?

Hm. It looks like mate-screensaver has UI changes and a feature addition
- namely, the UI to select a picture file to use as the background of
the lockscreen. That would not normally be an SRU candidate, and should
certainly be called out explicitly if it *is* desired as an SRU.
